Today I picked up my new car (or, as Hunter insists: "Hunters new car")
It's a Subaru Impreza RX, Manual, MY08 (this years model)
Dark Grey, with Black interior.

<img alt="My new Impreza" src="http://www.burfitt.org/blog/archives/IMG_9604.JPG" width=450 /img>

The brake lights are LED's, apparently this saves 1% fuel compared to last years model (total saving over last year is around 9%)

<img alt="My new Impreza, from the rear" src="http://www.burfitt.org/blog/archives/IMG_9606.JPG" width=450 /img>

Here's the ODO showing just 10km on the clock :-)

<img alt="Odometer: 10km" src="http://www.burfitt.org/blog/archives/IMG_9602.JPG" width=450 /img>

And I scratched the interior duco within about 5 minutes of getting the car :-)

Tonight Hunter was having a book (The very hungry caterpillar) read to him by Mum. They get to the final page and Hunter says:

"Look at the colors... Rojo, Azul, Verde"

Thats Spanish for Red, Blue and Green. It's all Dora the Explorer's fault. He knows that Red is Red, but it's also Rojo. Good thing Mum and Dad watch Dora with him, otherwise we'd be busy "correcting" him! (I thought Azul was the bad demon from Ghostbusters!)

He did a similar thing when climbing the ladder at the park on the weekend, saying "abajo" as he went up the steps. Almost got it, "abajo" is "down".

Hunter has always been good with numbers, loves them - reads the numbers of letterboxes and car numberplates when we are out and about. So we're now teaching him the alphabet (starting with the song) and recently Erica bought Hunter some alphabet magnets to play with.

Hunter and Erica are sitting there, pulling out letters:

Hunter: "What's that"
Mum: "A"
Hunter "A"

Hunter: "What's that"
Mum: "U"
Hunter: "Me ! That's Hunter ! Me !"
Mum: ROTFL

Over the last few months Hunter and I have spent quite a few Sundays looking at trains.
First there were the model trains at a local model train show:

<img alt="Hunter admiring a model train" src="http://www.burfitt.org/albums/Hunter/IMG_8622.sized.jpg" width=450 /img>

and then we all went to Mooroolbark Miniature Railway where we rode on many trains. Great value at under $2 per ride, and LONG rides. There's even a tunnel!

<img alt="Hunter and mummy on a train" src="http://www.burfitt.org/albums/Hunter/IMG_8654.sized.jpg" width=450 /img>

Then, one sunday while Mum was having a nap we visited the National Steam Center which is just down the road from our house. We rode on the miniature train, and had the good fortune to take a ride in a real Steam Engine (circa 1930's)

Hunter enjoyed it so much we took Mum the following Sunday :-)
